My father's main creative hobby was photography, so he encouraged me as a youngster to learn more about it. This is why I took a photography course while attending junior college, right after high school. It helped me to understand some things, but mostly I understood that it was too confusing for me. I could never get the F-stops right, and waiting for film to be developed was quite counterintuitive for me. So, when digital photography became a thing, and then, later, when I had a camera on my  dang phone, I finally felt comfortable playing with photography as an art medium.
